Art Camps at the First Night Monterey Studio

Spark your child’s creativity at First Night Monterey’s Art Camps! Designed for kids of all ages, our camps use the arts to inspire imagination, build confidence, and develop creative skills in a safe, fun, and non-competitive setting.

No prior experience required—just curiosity and enthusiasm. With age-appropriate instruction in a real art studio, children paint, draw, and create with a wide range of materials while learning, exploring, and having a blast. It’s the perfect place for young artists to discover, experiment, and express themselves.

We will have six week-long sessions in June and July. Your child is in for a wonderful, creative week at First Night’s Art Camp! They’ll be immersed in drawing, watercolor, painting, and sculpture-making. Plus, each camper will create a unique self-portrait to take home.

At the end of the week, we’ll celebrate your child’s creativity with a special art show on Friday afternoon! Each young artist will set up their work, with one piece beautifully framed and others thoughtfully displayed. Family and friends are welcome to join us in honoring their artistic journey!

Help Us Choose the FNM 2027 Poster!

The theme for First Night Monterey 2027 is "Color The Night" and CSUMB students have submitted their posters for judging! At right is the winning design from last year.

First Night Monterey staff collaborates closely with CSUMB and the Service Learning class, which provides students with valuable hands-on experience in publication design while contributing to the promotion and success of First Night Monterey's annual event. The student whose design is selected as the winner of the competition receives opportunities to produce the FNM graphics for print and web.
