First Night produced a number of outreach projects this year including: 1) Folkloric Dance Workshops with Ramon Silva- we will have a video soon of this project. 2) First Night Puppet Art Theater- Greenfield Art Class wrote an original script, create the puppet characters, painted a backdrop and performed the script several times. 3) Blazing the Trail Cultural Murals- 5 Murals Greenfield Art Class, Soledad CET Art Class, Monterey High School Art Academy, Pacific High School Art Class, Salinas Middle School 4)   Poetry Workshops- Mi Vida Mi Puebo- Monterey Library, Pacific Grove High School, Salinas Library Each year First Night Monterey Partners with the Graphic Design Class of CSUMB to create the artwork for the new year. The students design buttons and posters and submit them to FNM for a contest. Winning poster and button design are chosen which best illustrates the theme for the year and the image is then used for buttons, button cards, posters, ads and bus ads. VIEW short video.
