Choose from Two Grand Finales!
The Grand Finale will be indoors and opening up at 11:00 and beginning at 11:15. First Night Monterey will host two finales: one in the Serra Ballroom of the Conference Center featuring alternative dance-pop from an indie band originally hailing from Carmel Valley dancing us into the New Year, and the other will feature Monterey-based Red Beans & Rice with their New-Orleans-influenced, blues-inspired music suitable for dancing or just listening bringing us into the New Year at the Golden State Theatre. Both venues have limited seating, so a Finale ticket is the only way into these venues.
Finale tickets are FREE to buttonholders; Show your button to pick up yours at the Portola Plaza ticket booth between 8:00 &10:30 PM, or until the're gone!
Red Beans and Rice (BL/RR/DA) (Finale Performer) Site 14: Golden State Theater The Most Award Winning Band on the Central Coast!
Although often billed as a Blues Band, Monterey-based Red Beans & Rice has since its inception in 1993 consistently blended original compositions and lesser-known classics into an uptempo danceable gumbo
of New-Orleans-influenced, blues-inspired music suitable for dancing or just listening
(but be prepared to keep at least one foot tapping to the infectious rhythms).
Their blend of Chicago, Texas swing, Louisiana, contemporary and original music has garnered them numerous awards and will keep First Nighters foot-tapping all the way to the New Year!

Fire in the Hamptons (DA/RR) (Finale Performer) Site 19: Conference Center Serra Ballroom Alternative dance-pop from an electric-indie-rock band originally hailing from Carmel Valley, Fire In The Hamptons: a tribal entity that has come to provide the Earth with the soundtrack for celestial lovemaking. FITH is an auditory haven for the soul romping, hunger driven children of the sun. A colorful array of remixed styles, from the polyphonic buzz of the early 80's synthesizers to intricately strummed delayed guitar lines all riding on the back bone of deep house thumping kicks, inspires and arranges the sound that will keep the Conference Center dancing right into the New Year!
